Mercury's story begins with surplus aviation parts. The company was founded as Aerial Service Corp. to sell surplus Curtiss JN-4 "Jenny" parts — the famous biplane that trained thousands of World War I pilots.
A landmark moment in company history — Mercury's first full-production airplane, the "Mercury Chic," rolls off the assembly line, marking the company's evolution from a surplus parts dealer to an active aircraft manufacturer.
