Responsible for the complete engineering of metal fabricated parts, purchased parts and assemblies from cost estimating and development to support manufacturing and meet the customer’s requirements. The project engineer will demonstrate leadership and a cooperative sense of urgency by pursuing improvements and change while accomplishing the tasks as outlined in the standard operating procedures.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Coordinate with the engineering manager, manufacturing, sales, purchasing, quality control and model shop to determine strategies and how we can be successful in being awarded jobs and maintaining existing jobs.
Translate customer’s drawings into flat patterns and working drawings with the use of SolidWorks CAD/CAM.
Program CNC Turret punch press and laser machines from flat patterns or drawings.
Develop and document the manufacturing process via shop floor travelers, drawings and documents.
Help solve problems for shop floor and for customers as questions or engineering changes occur.
Support sales with prompt estimates of setup times, manufacturing times and tooling requirements. Assist tool makers in quoting, developing and qualifying tools using MMI quote software.
Work in an engineering team environment which requires flexibility in job assignments to meet our customer requirements and help all others foster new ideas.
Comply with the SOP as it applies to the engineering department related to ISO certification.
Other duties and responsibilities as required will be assigned.
